Ingredients for the custard:

500 ml of milk
3 full spoons of sugar
3 spoons of flour ‘00’
3 yolks
1 lemon skin
150 gr crumbled toasted nuts

Ingredients for the cake:
300 gr of flour
200 gr of sugar
4 eggs
120 ml olive oil
100 ml of milk
Baking powder
50 gr powdered sugar


Custard recipe:
Warm up the milk in a pan until it will nearly boil.
Put the yolks in a bowl and whip then with the sugar for a while,
Add the flour and keep on mixing.
Pour the milk in the bowl with the other ingredients and then put the whole mixture in a pan on the gas-stove. Cook it and keep on mixing so to avoid any lumps.
The custard will be ready once it becomes thick.
So let it cool down but do not forget to mix every now and then.

Cake recipe:
Whip eggs and sugar in a bowl with a wooden spoon.
Add the oil and the milk slowly while you keep on mixing well-
Sieve the flour with the baking powder and add it all to the rest, mixing until it is absorbed.
Put the baking paper in the baking pan, pour the mixture and then add the custard and the crumbled toasted nuts on top.
Bake the cake in the oven at 170 ° for 45 mins .
Once it is cooked, let it cool and then spread it with the powdered sugar.
