COOK WITH US IN KALAMATA

Food Connects People is organizing a workshop of two full days in Kalamata!

In the workshop there will be two cooking laboratories. They will be both in team work and they will both include direct interaction with the local culture.

• For the first laboratory, every participant should bring a recipe from home (a recipe that he/she loves or a recipe from his/her grandmother or a recipe from where he/she was born etc.) and will try to cook it in a greek way with the ingredients that he/she finds in Kalamata. So we will have for example a fabulous fusion italian dish with a greek touch.
• For the second laboratory, the participants will interview the local people of Kalamata to discover a greek recipe. Then, they will do the shopping for the discovered recipe and in the evening it will be time for cooking those delicious Kalamata recipes!

Here is the complete program:

8th December Thursday evening: meeting up, knowing each other and getting ready for the workshop

9th December Friday morning: yoga at the seaside for those who would like, breakfast at Villa Avia Apartments and visit to an olive grove and an olive oil mill of the region with Olive Love, a local organic olive oil producer

9th December Friday afternoon: heading to the downtown to do the shopping for the recipes brought from home

9th December Friday evening: cooking and eating all together at Villa Avia Apartments

10th December Saturday morning: yoga at the seaside for those who would like, breakfast at Villa Avia Apartments and heading to the city center to interview Kalamata people and grab their secret recipes

10th December Saturday afternoon: doing the shopping for the ingredients of the collected recipes in the local market and heading to Art Farm

10th December Saturday evening: cooking and eating all together at Art Farm, closing the workshop with a collective theater show

11th December Sunday morning: yoga at the seaside for those who would like, breakfast at Villa Avia Apartments and saying good bye

How to participate?

First please write us (info@foodconnectspeople.com) to ask for availability. If we confirm, you will need to pay the participation cost (170 €) and then you can book your flight tickets. Note that you have to search for a flight to Athens and then you need to take a bus from Athens Central Bus Station for Kalamata. Here you can find the bus schedule.
